Yahoo Quips is a topic based social network
concept that combined the idea of delivering content to
a user that they already had declared interest in with
the ability to add their own and share across all other
On the business side, the goal was to convert occasional Yahoo
users into daily users by giving them an entertaining
and compelling way to engage with the topics they love.
Our three principles to achieve this goal were: 1) Increase User Payoff (make it really valuable) 2) Optimize for Mobile/Social (was/is the future) 3) Leverage Yahoo content algo with user curation Work was executed while lead UX designer at Yahoo.
